My work can be categorized in four main genres: landscapes,
waterscapes, animals and people. I work predominantly in oil on canvas
but can be a magpie to new and different mediums including printmaking,
ink, pastel, watercolor, wine, sharpie pen and acrylic resins to name a
few.
Landscapes
My landscapes are simple and idealized, like windows on the wall to a
world I would like to live in, populated by fields of color, texture and
graphic shadows.
Waterscapes
These are meditations on the nature of liquids, all pattern, paint effects
and endless horizons. They are like a cool breeze or a warm fire hanging
on the wall.
Animals
I like to have heartbeats around. I love the force of life. These are portraits
of the furry things that accompany us, such as the greed of "feed me!" or
the ears-back and tail-swish of foul play.
People
I am interested in the language of line. How we communicate without
words, I am looking at gesture, body language and long lingering looks.
